Gavin Franklyn is an audio engineer, composer, and educator currently located in Cullowhee, NC. During his undergraduate studies at Western Carolina University, he earned a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Commercial Music and Audio Production. During his time at WCU, Mr. Franklyn served as the chief audio engineer for the internationally recognized Pride of The Mountains Marching Band in the 2024 season, running live sound for mallet instruments, synthesizers, and vocalists to perform for thousands of people. Mr. Franklyn also served as brass and visual technician for both Porter Ridge and Pisgah High School bands, teaching high school students how to perform well and served as mentor and role model for developing musicians. Mr. Franklyn also serves as the Audio Engineer for a Western North Carolina local band called Toadstool, running recording sessions and live shows for the ensemble. Mr. Franklyn also currently creates music under the name “Millhouse”, available on all major streaming services. Mr. Franklyn served as the Fraternity Education Officer for the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia during the 2023-2024 school year, running educational sessions to advance the musical knowledge of new members. In his free time, Mr. Franklyn plays video games, is a Boston Celtics fan, and has 2 cats named Gwen and Charli.
